Problems with Disability Benefits

The http://docs.google.com/View?id=dfss388x_1ggn72cc8(disability benefits scheme) offered by the government is meant to assist those who are suffering from a disability and cannot work to look after themselves. However, sometimes the entire process of application and approval become more of a hassle rather then a helping hand.

The http://www.about-disability.com/disability-education/(disability benefits program) of the United States is commonly acknowledged to be flawed. There are several issues with the system in place for the same triggered by a variety of reasons. The fault in this case falls on both parties- those who file claims as well as those who process and offer their decisions over them.

One of the greatest problems plaguing the process is the consistent cutback of the number of state examiners. With fewer examiners at the Social Security Administration office, backlogging of the applications has become a common feature, thereby further delaying the processing of claims.

Fraud has been committed so many times within the system of the http://www.about-disability.com/disability-training/(disability benefits), that now examiners are taking extra care to determine whether each and every applicant is genuine or not. This thorough scrutiny of the applications also hinders the system by further delaying application processing making it difficult for people to rely on it.

Consistency is also an issue with disability benefits. Lack of consistency is most evident in the evaluation and processing of the applications. The evaluations are subjective in nature without adequate discipline making each case, even those with similar criteria being open to different decisions. LOL

Because of these existent faults in the system, once the application is filed, the applicant may have to wait for several years for the form to be approved and receive any form of money. This results in a welfare systems overload caused by more people waiting to get an approval. it also forces individuals to file for bankruptcy and go into a foreclosure. LOL

Many people with disabilities usually leave work fairly soon as they do not see a separate alternative. The system should take up this issue by focusing on rehabilitating people so that they continue to work rather then simply assume that disabled people cannot work. LOL
